What is hypoglycemia?
Hypoglycemia means blood sugar levels are lower than normal (< 70 mg.dl).
Signs & Symptoms
When blood sugar levels are low, individuals can experience a rapid & irregular heartbeat, shakiness, fatigue, pale skin, sweating, and tingling or numbness in lips. If left untreated, individuals can experience convulsions, seizures, or loss of consciousness.
When blood sugar is low, diabetics will have to eat high-sugar foods, like a piece of candy, or drink high-sugar drinks, like soda or juice.
