Carbohydrates are a HUGE group of organic compounds that is in foods and living tissues and includes sugars, starch, and cellulose. They contain hydrogen and oxygen, and it gets broken down to release energy in the body.
Why are Carbohydrates important for Diabetics?
The reason why carbohydrates are important to diabetics is the body makes carbohydrates into glucose and it makes blood sugars increase. When blood sugars are frequently high because of lack or decrease of insulin it can cause nerve damage and hurt blood vessels and organs.
